VIRGIN IS IN COZUMEL TODAY
On December 12th, 2005, Cozumel
Island received a venerated real size copy of Guadalupe Virgin image. This
project was developed because in our country, millions of people are
Guadalupe Virgin devoted, and of course Cozumel is not the exception.
In your visit to our island, we invite you to
come and admire this beautiful image, which was made in yute, a material
that is similar to maguey fiber, but it is more difficult to paint on
maguey. The great mystery began in the beautifulness of the original image
painted on maguey.
If you have the opportunity to go to Mexico
City, you can visit the Guadalupe Basilica to watch the real Guadalupe
Virgin image, but if you are in Cozumel, don’t lose the opportunity to
admire this marvelous image located in the Mother of Guadalupe Church.
